There are two lessons of Art each week, in the Senior Art room, for classes 5 to 8. In addition, there are after school classes for students in classes 8 and 9 who wish to take Art as an exam subject. The preparation for GCSE is very practical, as the two part examination requires students to use their course work to practically demonstrate their skills.
Each year there is an annual Art exhibition where the work submitted in a competition, held in class time, is displayed. This is usually opened with a function which shows musical talent as well as the visual achievements. The winning Art work is used in the annual academic calendar which is published each year.
In addition, there are a number of workshops, run by the Art department through the year, which students can sign up for.
