1 August 2017

Dear Parents,

The British Council and Daffodil Education Network (DEN) are jointly launching a Book Reading Competition aimed at celebrating World Book Day 2017 in Bangladesh. World Book Day is designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world. The British Council celebrates World Book Day through a nation-wide book reading campaign for children, young adults and adults in four different groups (Group A, B, C and D). The participants read a book given to them by the British Council and then attend an assessment test at the end. Last year, the top six winners won laptops and other 60 winners won many other prizes from four different categories.

The school would like to encourage its students and avid readers to take part in this reading campaign and put their reading skills to test. Who knows, you might even win a laptop!

The interested participants will be sent a book at the school from the British Council, and at the end of the reading, there will be an assessment test. Participants can keep the book after reading. Detailed information is available on the website mentioned below.
