ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Sir John Wilson School (SJWS) is considered one of the top-ranking private English-medium schools in Bangladesh. Established on 29 August 1995 with only 9 students, the school has grown remarkably over the years. Today, the student body stands at 2,000+, supported by 208+ academic staff members.

Sir John Wilson School (SJWS) is dedicated to empowering students to become lifelong learners who value knowledge, skills, and personal growth. Our mission is to nurture individuals who embody the school’s core values of respect, tolerance, inclusion, and diversity, while striving for excellence in education and adapting to new challenges.

We deliver cohesive and engaging learning programs within an active environment that ensures quality teaching. Beyond academics, SJWS emphasizes community engagement, encouraging students to give back to society and grow into responsible global citizens.

Named after the late Sir John Wilson, a pioneer in the worldwide battle against disability, the school takes pride in offering a curriculum that builds well-rounded individuals. SJWS follows the Pearson Edexcel UK Curriculum, adapted to meet local needs in Bangladesh, with French language instruction introduced in Classes 3–5.

Extracurricular activities are central to our philosophy. Students can explore diverse clubs focusing on the environment, debate, arts, crafts, culture, and STEM. Sports are equally important, fostering teamwork, resilience, and confidence. Swimming lessons are integrated into Classes 2 and 7, with after-school swimming clubs available for Classes 1–12.

At SJWS, we are committed to helping every student realize their full potential in a safe, supportive environment. Through positive communication and collaboration between staff, students, and parents, we cultivate responsibility, leadership, and academic excellence.

SJWS strives to shape the new generation into confident, compassionate, and capable individuals prepared to thrive in a global society.
