Dear Parents,

It is with great pleasure we announce that Sir John Wilson School will be moving to its permanent campus in July 2015. From the next academic year 2015-2016, all classes from KG II to Class 12 will be held in our new campus.  PG to KG I classes will continue in the Gulshan premises.

We request you to note the following administrative changes which will take effect from the next academic year:

School Timing:

The new timing for different classes will be as follows:

Class

Starting

Finishing

KG II to class 2

8:30 am

1:30 pm

Class 3 to 12

8:30 am

2:15 pm

Health and Moral Education and Form/Advising period will be merged to become one period in which various issues related to both will be taught and addressed. There will, however, be no assessment or grading for that.

Classes KG II to class 2 will have six periods and Classes 3 to 12 will have 7. Each period will be of 45 minutes duration. Break time will be extended to 30 minutes.

 Division of the academic year:

From the next academic year, we will have 2 terms instead of 3. Each term will have a Parental Consultation day in the middle of the term where parents will be notified about the student’s progress. A half term grade sheet will be produced and shared with the parents. At the end of the first term, there will be a half yearly exam for senior classes (Class- 5 to 9) and regular assessment for the early and middle sections. A more detailed report card will be given at the end of each term incorporating all marks attained up to that period.

Readjustment of Sections:

Our new campus has big class rooms which have been designed to accommodate 25 students comfortably. So the number of sections in most of the classes will be reduced. This will necessitate reshuffling of students of various sections.

Transport Service:

The school plans to introduce its own Transport Service for all students at our new campus. We have worked out an elaborate ‘pick up’ and ‘drop off’ points considering the concentration of students in different areas of the city. This will facilitate the movement of children and reduce the bother of the parents. Details of the plan will be circulated later. We expect our parents to wholeheartedly extend their support and avail the facility which will greatly reduce the traffic congestion at Satarkul. Please note that after the introduction of the new transport service, the existing Home to School and School to School service will be discontinued.

Fees Structure:

Fees and other charges for the coming year have been revised. The revised rates are being sent to the parents.
