PODCAST BY SIR JOHN WILSON SCHOOL SENIORS

Tiffin Time with Ahnaf is a podcast newly initiated by class 12 students of Sir John Wilson School. It is hosted by Ahnaf Rahman Chowdhury. The other team members include Afrah Ahmed, Anya Anber Ameen, KM Chisty Aryan, Mahir Aziz, Mahmud Tazwar Islam, Minhazur Rahman Hamim, Muhammad Nahiyan Monem, Rakin Abser, Razeen Ali, Soumyabha Das (Class 10), Zarif Alam and our ex-students including Umran Julhas, Rafyat Shafiq and Farhan Fuad.

Twice a month, new guests are invited to the show to share their unique experiences through their personal stories and struggles, as well as their views on world issues. Invited guests are often people who have been closely involved with the school such as teachers, alumni, students and other external guests. Although the students are continuing their education through online classes amidst this pandemic, they may be missing the personal connection they have with their friends or older students at school. This podcast aims to connect the students with their school teachers, alumni and friends.

Two episodes have been released so far with episode 1 including a prominent teacher, and episode 2 including past students of Sir John Wilson School.

The podcast is available on Youtube as “TiffinTime with Ahnaf-A Wilsoner Podcast” and the link is

ACHIEVEMENT AT NEPAL INTERNATIONAL DEBATE TOURNAMENT

Sir John Wilson School students took part in Nepal International Debate Tournament, Smart Debates very recently. The five teams which participated were Soumyabha Das and Zahi Wali Aadit, Mahir Aziz and Shadman Khan Chowdhury, Zuhair Mahmud and Sadif Rahman, Mushfera Mahmud and Rafid Enam, Mahdi Sadaab Pathan and Zayn Arshis. From this bunch, Mahir Aziz and Shadman Khan Chowdhury broke to the open quarterfinals and ended their successful round there while Zayn Arshis and Mahdi Sadaab Pathan broke to the High School finals and ended their successful round there too.

But the speaker scores were even more successful with four speakers from our school breaking in the top ten speaker list for High School. This included Zahi Wali Aadit being the third best high school speaker of the tournament, Mahir Aziz being the fourth best high school speaker of the tournament, Shadman Khan being the seventh best high school speaker while Zayn Arshis was awarded the ninth best high school speaker.

We are very proud of their achievement and wish them more success in the future debate tournaments.
