ANNUAL SPORTS DAY -2014-15 OF SIR JOHN WILSON SCHOOL
This year the much awaited Annual Sports Day of Sir John Wilson School was held on the 11th of December at the Gulshan Youth Club premises. As always, the sincere effort of the Sports Event Committee that went into planning and organizing the Annual Sports Day, resulted in a successful event enjoyed by the students, parents and school staff.
The event was inaugurated by the Principal, Brig. Gen. Mirza T H Beg (Retd). The Middle, Early and Senior sections participated in three separate segments that started from 8am and went on till 4pm.
The first scheduled events of 100m race, Frog Jump race, Balance race and Spoon race were for the Middle Year students of grades 1 to 4. The enthusiasm and impressive effort of the junior students were admirable.
The focal parts of the next segment were the cute students of Playgroup and Nursery participating in the 25m race and Chocolate race. KGI and KGII participated afterwards with a lot of zeal in the 50m race and Balance race.
Senior students from classes 5 to 12 were divided into four houses - Centaur, Phoenix, Dragon and Unicorn. The houses competed with each other and displayed praiseworthy sportsmanship in 100m race, Balance race and Relay race, with Centaur coming out as the winner.
Each of the segmented events closed with prize-giving ceremonies where winners received medals and certificates. There were separate 100m races by the parents, teachers and supporting staff with the great applause by the students. It was yet another successful winter day sports event, and the overall ambience was complemented by delicious food and drinks arranged by Coentro and Wow Burger with Chabaa fruit juice.
