The 9th Annual Dhaka Model United Nations (DHAMUN) was held on December 12 and 13, 2014. In this event, high school or university students take the roles of Delegates for the United Nations’ member states and debate real world issues. As it is an UN event, it follows the same rules and protocols, with its own Secretary General and Councils which exist in the actual United Nations. This year there were 14 Councils: General Assembly 1, 2, 3, 4, Human Rights Council, Economic and Social Council, Disarmament Commission, Security Council, Environment Commission and Special Conferences 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Hanin Basith Afzal of Class 11 and Fahim Noor Islam of Class 12 bagged the Best Delegate for France in General Assembly 4 and Israel in General Assembly 3 respectively.
