Luckily the new school field had been prepared over the winter break and so we had plenty of space for all the projects in this year's senior Science Fair. Ms Raimey Booth, from ISD, opened the fair with recollections of her first Science experiment. When she was three years old she was curious about Ants. What did they eat? Her father helped her set out three different types of food and she was thrilled the next day to find one species all over the meat, and another on the vegetables. This had her hooked for life on the experimental method of enquiry.
All of the judges enjoyed the wide variety of projects ranging from AIDs, through non-Newtonian liquids, Hovercrafts and sustainable living to Space travel. One eye catching display literally played with fire! Class 4 students were excited to visit and parents appreciated the hard work of the students. it was a successful event. Students, parents, teachers, admin and support staff all share in the plaudits, with an especial mention for Ms Rosalind the Science Coordinator. Watch this space to learn who are the winners. They will be announced shortly.
